The Hurt Syndicate have not appeared on AEW television since their outing surrounding All In: London on August 30, and recent reports have suggested backstage friction over whether the group would put other AEW wrestlers over in matches.

On The Hump, journalist Sean Ross Sapp said discussions that members of The Hurt Syndicate were reluctant to put some AEW talent over had been "a thing," and co-host Jon Alba suggested the faction might not be seen on AEW programming anytime soon. Those comments were presented as reporting rather than confirmed facts.

MVP publicly pushed back on those reports in a post on X, calling them lies and pointing to an example — Private Party — when he said the group were willing to drop the tag titles to younger talent. The Hurt Syndicate lost the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Brodido in a three-way at Forbidden Door in 2025 that also featured FTR; MVP said the group had intended to return the belts to Private Party before later title changes.

AEW President Tony Khan has also commented on the faction's absence, framing it through the group's stated in-ring posture as hired guns and saying they could appear "for the right amount of money," a line Khan used when addressing their status ahead of WrestleDream.

All three members remain under multi-year AEW contracts. While Shelton Benjamin has not wrestled since All In, Bobby Lashley has been active elsewhere, winning the ACW World Championship in early September. With the faction's WWE-era reputation and their prior AEW run — they are former World Tag Team Champions who last worked The Buy In preshow for All In: London — there remains expectation among fans that The Hurt Syndicate could return to AEW in some form, whether as a trio, a tag pairing or in singles roles.

The situation combines reported backstage claims and public denials; the original reporting and subsequent responses are outlined above.
