Privacy Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
Pulse of Wrestling ("we", "us") runs pulseofwrestling.com from Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect and why
- Reading the site: no account is needed. Our server keeps short technical logs (such as the page requested and a shortened, one-way-scrambled version of your IP address) to keep the site running, stop abuse and enforce rate limits.
- Accounts: if you create one, we store your username, display name and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password — never the password itself — plus a sign-in cookie.
- Chat and community features: messages you post in event chats, reports you file, and any moderation actions taken on your account. Chat messages are public to other visitors.
- Newsletter: your email address, the date and wording of the consent you gave, and where you signed up. We only email you if you ticked the consent box, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Contact form: your name, email and message, used only to reply to you.
- Prediction contests: your name, email, picks and answers, used to run the contest, rank entries and contact winners. See each contest's official rules.
- Preferences: settings like spoiler protection and followed wrestlers are kept in cookies on your device (or with your account if you're signed in).
- AI features: questions you type into Ask Pulse or Catch Me Up are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate an answer. We don't keep them beyond a short cache unless you choose to share a result.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider (DigitalOcean, servers in Toronto, Canada) and our AI provider (Anthropic, for the AI features above). They may process data outside Canada, under their own privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
Account data stays while your account exists. Newsletter details stay until you unsubscribe (we keep a record of the unsubscribe). Contact messages and contest entries are kept as long as needed to deal with them and then deleted. Technical logs are kept for a short period.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent, at any time — just contact us. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
The site is for a general audience. You must be at least 13 to create an account or post in chat.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords and limited access to our database. No system is perfect, so we also keep what we collect to a minimum.
Changes and contact
We'll post any changes here with a new date. Questions? Contact us.
