Israel Adesanya confirmed on the Precision podcast that he has signed a new contract with the UFC and plans to return to the octagon fairly soon.

Adesanya set to return after four straight losses

Adesanya — who defeated Alex Pereira at UFC 287 before the four-fight losing streak — said the past three years have been difficult but that he feels renewed and eager to perform again. He noted that, in that run, two losses were by TKO and one was by submission.

On the podcast he said he had missed competing and teased his next outing with the line that there would be "blood in the sand" and that it "won't be me," also suggesting the return could come in Abu Dhabi or Saudi Arabia. The Precision podcast is the source of his confirmation that a new UFC deal is signed; no opponent, date or official event has been announced.

Adesanya remains one of MMA's higher-profile fighters, and his planned return will be closely watched by fans and the promotion.
