AEW airs 'Timeless' Toni Storm packages at WrestleDream; attacker remains unknown

AEW aired a series of video packages featuring the "Timeless" Toni Storm at WrestleDream, prompting renewed speculation about the former Women’s World Champion's status after a lengthy absence from AEW television, according to WrestleTalk.

Toni Storm was last seen on AEW programming in March when she was found laid out backstage. WrestleTalk says the WrestleDream packages have renewed questions about who was responsible for that incident.

WrestleTalk cites reporting from Fightful Select that there are no firm expectations for an immediate in-ring return for Storm; Fightful said the company could still use her in non-wrestling roles while planning a longer-term direction.

WrestleTalk suggested three primary possibilities for the identity of the mystery attacker:

• Mina Shirakawa — Storm had been teamed with Shirakawa as the Timeless Love Bombs and the pair lost in the tournament to crown the first AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. WrestleTalk notes Shirakawa has had limited AEW TV exposure since the March incident, making her a commonly suggested suspect in a betrayal angle.
• Mercedes Mone — WrestleTalk points to Mercedes Mone as another potential suspect, noting her recent return via the Owen Hart Tournament, her tournament victory and resulting title shot at All In London, and the broader storyline context of Mone pursuing major gold following previous title losses.
• Storm herself — WrestleTalk also raises the possibility that the Timeless character was intentionally retired on-screen as part of a creative reset, with Storm staging the attack to prepare for a different presentation on a future return.

No confirmation has been issued by AEW or the talents involved about who attacked Toni Storm; the identity of the attacker remains a storyline mystery at this time.
