WrestleTalk: multiple matches reportedly scrapped from Crown Jewel card
WrestleTalk reports that WWE has changed several matches originally planned for Crown Jewel 2026, which takes place in Riyadh on November 7. According to the report, three bouts that had appeared on promotional material or were planned internally were removed or moved ahead of the event.
The source lists the affected matches as:
- A trios match pitting The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Austin Theory) against Penta, Je’Von Evans and Oba Femi. WrestleTalk reports that the trios bout was originally intended for Crown Jewel, but Penta and Je’Von Evans are now reported to challenge Bron Breakker and Austin Theory for the World Tag Team Championships on November 7 in Riyadh.
- A singles match between Finn Balor and GUNTHER. WrestleTalk notes Balor and GUNTHER have been feuding since SummerSlam 2026 with both targeting the Undisputed WWE Championship, and that posters and reports from Riyadh indicated a Balor vs. GUNTHER match had been planned — but it does not appear on current Crown Jewel promotional material.
- A CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens encounter. WrestleTalk reports Punk and Owens were believed to be slated for Crown Jewel, but the two are instead scheduled to meet in a rematch on the November 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Brooklyn, as announced on the October 23 edition of SmackDown by GM Nick Aldis.
The report also notes recent storyline context cited by WrestleTalk: Oba Femi’s post-SummerSlam feud with The Vision and his Money In The Bank 2026 victory over Bronson Reed, and the ongoing Balor–GUNTHER program.
