CM Punk and Bayley Added to WWE NXT Holiday Live Tour; Backstage Role Reports Resurface
WWE has announced CM Punk and Bayley for NXT’s Holiday Live Tour in November; a Wrestling Observer report says both could be considered for expanded backstage roles amid possible 2027 creative changes.
WWE has announced that CM Punk and Bayley will appear on the NXT Holiday Live Tour this November. Bayley is listed for Cleveland on November 13 and will join Punk in Detroit on November 14, while Punk is also confirmed for Chicago on November 15.
Punk has previously appeared at NXT events and the Performance Center. In August he worked an NXT live event in Virginia, teaming with Myles Borne and Tavion Heights in a victory over The Vanity Project. He has also visited the Performance Center for rehabilitation and to offer guidance to developing talent; even Grayson Waller, who previously questioned Punk’s visits, has said Punk has been helpful to performers there.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reports WWE could be weighing larger backstage roles for both Punk and Bayley amid possible structural changes in 2027. Alvarez’s report says Bayley’s involvement could depend on her future plans and that Punk might receive additional creative input. The report also names Shawn Michaels as a leading candidate to replace Bruce Prichard as Executive Director of Creative Writing and Talent after WrestleMania 43, and mentions AJ Styles and a potential new direction for WWE’s ID program. None of these items have been confirmed by WWE.
On the main roster, Punk is booked in a grudge match with Kevin Owens on the November 7 episode of SmackDown. The Holiday Live Tour stops will give fans another chance to see the two established names working alongside developmental talent; whether the visits lead to broader behind-the-scenes duties remains unconfirmed.
