No Holds Barred stipulation added to CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens for SmackDown
WWE announced a No Holds Barred match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens for the November 6 episode of SmackDown, escalating an ongoing feud that has played out over recent weeks.
WWE has announced that the November 6 episode of SmackDown will feature a No Holds Barred match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens. The episode is scheduled to be taped on the Monday after Raw in Brooklyn, New York.
The stipulation was revealed on this week’s SmackDown as the two continued a rivalry that has been developing for several months. The conflict intensified in Mexico City when Owens accidentally struck Punk with the WWE Championship while attempting to hit Sami Zayn, costing Punk his match.
In the following week’s segment, Punk hit Owens and cost him a title opportunity. Both men later took part in the Money in the Bank ladder match, where Owens stopped Punk from grabbing the briefcase.
With tensions escalating and both performers calling for another contest, Nick Aldis has booked the No Holds Barred encounter for November 6. The announcement formalizes the rematch and adds the stipulation for next week’s SmackDown.
