Major League Wrestling has confirmed New Japan Pro-Wrestling's IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji will appear at Saturday Night Superfight on November 7 and will issue an open challenge to members of the MLW roster, the company announced.

WrestleTalk published a piece suggesting four MLW performers who could answer that challenge. WrestleTalk's suggestions were:

  • Matt Riddle — WrestleTalk notes Riddle returned to MLW after leaving WWE in 2023, has held the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, and is positioned as a proven main-event performer.
  • Brick Savage — Described by WrestleTalk as a rising heavyweight on the MLW roster; the site said a match with Tsuji would be a major opportunity for Savage.
  • Trevor Lee — WrestleTalk observed that Trevor Lee (formerly Cameron Grimes) signed with MLW after his 2024 WWE release and, as the inaugural MLW Southern Crown Champion, could be in line for a high-profile bout.
  • Donovan Dijak — WrestleTalk listed Dijak as one of MLW's leading stars whose experience and size could make for a strong match with Tsuji.

MLW has confirmed Tsuji's open challenge for November 7; which, if any, MLW wrestler will accept has not been announced.
