Cedric Alexander says WWE–TNA partnership "has room to improve" as crossover cools

Cedric Alexander, now signed to TNA Wrestling, told Medd in the Morning that the WWE–TNA partnership has been positive for the business but still offers opportunities to strengthen ties after an initial period of crossover in 2025.

Cedric Alexander, now a TNA Wrestling performer, told Medd in the Morning that the multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling has been positive for the industry but "has room to improve," according to WrestleTalk.

The alliance, announced in January 2025, produced several visible moments: Joe Hendry's rise on NXT prior to his WWE signing; Leon Slater making a main roster debut while contracted to TNA; Trick Williams holding the TNA World Heavyweight Championship; and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo as International Champion. The Hardy Boyz also returned to WWE in 2025 and captured the NXT Tag Team Championship, and the companies staged a co-produced ShoWdown series following an invasion storyline.

Activity between the promotions has cooled more recently. Examples of crossover since then include TNA talent entering NXT matches, such as the women's No. 1 Contender's battle royal featuring Indi Hartwell, Xia Brookside and the team of M & Heather by Elegance. TNA President Carlos Silva told WrestleTalk in October that the company is "playing the long game."

Alexander, who was released from his WWE contract in February last year and debuted in TNA in June, framed the partnership as broadly positive for pro wrestling and said collaboration creates opportunities and exposure for talent.

There is ongoing industry speculation that WWE, as the larger broadcast partner, may target talent when contracts expire or explore further business options with TNA; those reports are unconfirmed. WrestleTalk is the source for Alexander's remarks cited in this item.
