The following summarizes the WWE house show held October 27, 2006, at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa, as reported by PWTorch correspondent Ryan Mehaffy.

John Cena retained the WWE Championship when his match with Umaga ended in a disqualification after Johnny Nitro ran in and attacked Cena. Triple H later came out to help as Umaga and manager Armando Alejandro Estrada became involved in the post-match brawl. Edge had been advertised for the show but did not appear.

Jeff Hardy successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against Johnny Nitro. Nitro’s manager Melina interfered and was sent from ringside; Hardy finished the match with a swanton bomb.

Other reported results from the evening:

  • Super Crazy defeated Chris Masters — Masters had Crazy in the masterlock, but Crazy escaped and won with a roll-up.
  • Cryme Tyme defeated Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch (tag match).
  • A performer billed as "The Big Deal" defeated Val Venis; the reporter did not recall the wrestler’s given name.
  • Mickie James defeated Victoria; both performed in Halloween costumes (James as a mouse, Victoria as a bat).
  • The Highlanders defeated The Spirit Squad (non-title); at the finish Kenny slapped teammates and walked away.
  • Carlito defeated Shelton Benjamin with the back-cracker.
  • Triple H defeated Randy Orton; the entrance included DX-style lights and music and Triple H noted Shawn Michaels was not present.

Between matches Maria and Torrie Wilson (with Chloe) made an appearance at ringside; Maria was described as wearing lingerie, the two traded suggestive banter and tossed shirts into the crowd before naming the next shirt catcher the guest ring announcer for the following match.

The reporter estimated the crowd at roughly 2,000 and described the event as a strong house show that delivered good value for attendees.
