Queen Aminata captures TBS Championship after years-long climb

Queen Aminata defeated Persephone on Dynamite to win the AEW TBS Championship, marking her first title in All Elite Wrestling.

The win capped a multi-year run in AEW that included early TV appearances, a contract signing, several unsuccessful title challenges and a medically reported neck injury that sidelined her for months.

• April 7, 2021 — Aminata made her AEW debut on Dark, teaming with Amber Nova in a loss to Big Swole & Red Velvet.
• November 23, 2022 — She made her televised debut on Rampage, losing to Hikaru Shida.
• January 3, 2024 — Aminata appeared on Dynamite, losing to Mariah May.
• February 16, 2024 — She recorded her first AEW singles win on Rampage over Anna Jay and signed with the company shortly afterward.
• October 16, 2024 — Aminata challenged Mercedes (Mercedes Mone) for the TBS Championship and came up short in her first title match.
• November 2025 — Aminata announced a neck injury that kept her out of action for more than five months.
• Early April 2026 — She returned with an unsuccessful challenge to Willow Nightingale for the TBS title, then was absent from TV for roughly two months.
• June 24, 2026 — Aminata returned to television, defeating Velvet to qualify for a Survival of the Fittest match for the (vacant) TBS Championship; Hikaru Shida won that match and later defeated Aminata in a July 16 title defense.
• September–October 2026 — Aminata spent several weeks either teaming with or facing Mina Shirakawa and compiled a string of wins that put her back into title contention; her only defeat in that stretch was a tag loss to the Sisters of Sin that she later avenged in singles action.
• Late October 2026 — After losing an AEW Women’s World Championship match to Mercedes Mone and a separate four-way for the TBS Championship that Persephone won, Aminata beat Maya World on Dynamite to earn another title shot and then defeated Persephone the following week to become TBS Champion.

The title victory was Aminata's sixth challenge for the TBS Championship (not counting eliminator or qualifying matches). Her run in AEW has included recovery from injury and repeated title opportunities before finally securing the belt.
