Cody Rhodes, John Cena and Michael Chandler confirmed for NXT episode scheduled opposite AEW Blood & Guts
WWE has confirmed several high-profile appearances for next week’s NXT episode — rescheduled to Wednesday for US mid-term coverage — including Cody Rhodes, John Cena and Michael Chandler as the show goes head-to-head with AEW’s Blood & Guts.
WrestleTalk reports multiple high-profile appearances are set for next week’s episode of WWE NXT, which will air on Wednesday instead of its usual Tuesday slot because of US mid-term election coverage. The scheduling pits NXT against AEW Dynamite’s Blood & Guts special.
WrestleTalk lists the following names as confirmed for the broadcast:
- Cody Rhodes — WWE has announced Rhodes will attend to present the trophy for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic final. The tournament final is scheduled to feature Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar vs. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger.
- John Cena — WWE announced Cena will appear on both Raw and NXT next week. WrestleTalk says many expect his appearances to include additional details about the John Cena Classic, which Cena introduced at Backlash and which has been reported as planned for December.
- Michael Chandler — UFC fighter Michael Chandler posted a video addressing NXT general manager Robert Stone about the announced Unsanctioned match between Cruz Montana and Dion Lennox; in the clip he teased serving as an enforcer. WrestleTalk lists Chandler among those set to appear.
WrestleTalk adds these three names may not be the only special appearances, noting WWE could announce further guests at Halloween Havoc. The confirmed additions and the scheduling change make next week’s NXT a higher-profile card as it goes head-to-head with AEW’s Blood & Guts broadcast.
