Amazing Red Holds Onto TNA X-Division Title After Competitive Win Over Cedric Alexander

Amazing Red retained the TNA X-Division Championship by defeating Cedric Alexander on the October 29 episode of TNA iMPACT.

The match was a fast-paced, competitive encounter that saw both men trade momentum and near-falls. Alexander started strong, throwing Red to the mat and working through a wristlock before Red escaped and struck back with offense off the ropes. The champion followed Alexander to the outside and hit a Swanton from the ring post, then continued the attack by chopping Alexander against the barricades and rolling him back into the ring.

Alexander answered with an X-Plex on the apron and a facelock inside the ring, later connecting on a German suplex for a near fall. He kept pressure on with corner chops, a choke at the ropes, a splash and dropkick, and a DVD for another close two-count. After wearing Red down with a waistlock, Alexander looked poised to finish the match when Red rallied with elbows and strikes.

Red turned the tide with a headscissor takedown into a tornado DDT and a superkick, then attempted his finishing move, the Code Red. Alexander countered the move into a Michinoku Driver and nearly won, but both men continued trading chops and quick rolls. After a second-rope DDT from Red and more back-and-forth action, Red connected with the Code Red to secure the pin and retain the X-Division title.

The victory continued Red's run as champion after a memorable night at Slammiversary, where he won the X-Division Championship in a seven-way scramble the same night he was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. Alexander had earned this title opportunity by defeating Fabian Aichner, Rich Swann and KC Navarro in a four-way match the previous week.
