SmackDown and AEW Dynamite Will Air Head-to-Head on New Year’s Day; WWE Reportedly Won’t Alter Its SmackDown

Wrestling Inc reports WWE's Friday program SmackDown is scheduled to air opposite All Elite Wrestling's Dynamite on New Year's Day, and WWE does not plan any special alterations to SmackDown for that episode.

According to the Wrestling Inc item, WWE is not intending to add special segments, change the show's format, or make other advertised adjustments specifically because of the scheduling overlap with Dynamite.

The report frames this as a scheduling note rather than a creative or business shift and does not offer further specifics about match listings or talent availability.

Wrestling Inc also did not detail AEW's plans for that night. We will monitor further reporting for confirmations from WWE or AEW and any additional context from wrestling news outlets.
