NXT TV highlights from Capitol Wrestling Center (Oct. 27)
At NXT live on CW from Winter Park, Fla., Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar defeated The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) to advance to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic final. Moreno & Dar won at 14:13 after a flurry of late offense that saw both teams trading finishers.
Also advancing to the final were Hank Walker & Tank Ledger, who beat El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno (the Wagner Brothers) in a semifinal that ended at 10:48. Dr. Wagner Jr. was at ringside for his sons during the match.
On television, Evolve's Chantel Monroe made her NXT TV debut and picked up a victory over Lizzy Rain at 9:28. Monroe did not receive a televised entrance and won following a sequence on the apron and a pin where Rain appeared to have rope contact.
Sean Legacy defeated Saquon Shugars in a singles TV match that finished at 10:25 when Legacy landed a standing Spanish Fly for the pin. The broadcast continued storytelling around Shugars' focus following the loss.
Backstage and vignette angles advanced several feuds: Grayson Waller filmed himself outside Tony D'Angelo's house; Tony responded angrily and warned Waller he would "kill him," later leaving a message asking to "meet me where it all started." Rob Stone announced next week Dion Lennox will face Cruz Montana in an unsanctioned match. Separately, Danhausen spun the wheel and named the Myles Borne vs. Tavion Heights meetup a Weapons Wild Match.
The broadcast was called by Vic Joseph and Booker T with Mike Rome on microphone duty. The results set up the Dusty Classic final scheduled for next week's NXT episode.
