Grayson Waller targets WWE Championship after NXT return
On the Insight Podcast, Grayson Waller said he is now aiming for the WWE Championship after reworking his character and re-establishing himself in NXT. He also said he feared release earlier this year following a Raw squash loss and the New Day’s departure.

Grayson Waller told the Insight Podcast he is now pursuing the WWE Championship after reworking his presentation and re-establishing himself on NXT.
Waller said the changes to his character and a renewed emphasis on being a credible in-ring competitor have shifted his long-term goals, and that he now sees himself as a potential WWE title contender when he returns to the main roster.
He also said he feared he might be released earlier this year after the New Day left WWE and following a squash loss to Oba Femi on an edition of Raw, and that a subsequent lack of television direction for several weeks increased his concern.
Rather than accept that outcome, Waller said he returned to NXT in July with a pointed promo aimed at the roster and management. At Heatwave, he defeated Tony D'Angelo, Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu to win the NXT Championship.
Waller described the NXT run and title victory as part of an effort to prove his value and said he hopes the main roster will be ready for what he brings. Information via F4WOnline and the Insight Podcast.
