Grayson Waller Dismisses NXT Roster's Reaction to John Cena's Oct. 4 Appearance
Grayson Waller told Busted Open After Dark he was unimpressed by NXT talent getting excited over John Cena's announced Oct. 4 NXT appearance, saying Cena could learn how NXT operates from him.
Grayson Waller pushed back on the excitement surrounding John Cena's announced appearance on the October 4 episode of WWE NXT, telling Busted Open After Dark that he was not impressed by his NXT peers' reaction.
Waller said he was backstage when WWE released the graphic announcing Cena's NXT appearance and described a strong, enthusiastic response from other NXT wrestlers. In the interview, Waller downplayed that reaction and suggested Cena could learn from him about how things are handled in NXT now.
The comments came after WWE confirmed Cena would appear on the Oct. 4 NXT broadcast. Waller framed the announcement as a moment that, in his view, produced excessive marking out from talent who he believes should be less star-struck.
Waller's remarks were made during the Busted Open After Dark interview and were reported by Fightful.
