Rules
Free to play. No paid entry, no betting, no payouts. Here's exactly how it works.
Taking part
- Entry is free. You need a free account so your picks are saved on our server and can count in standings and leagues.
- There is no paid entry, no betting and no automatic payout of any kind.
- Fictional sample shows are demo play: they have their own demo season and never carry prizes.
Deadlines and locks
- Every pick sheet shows its deadline: the show's published start time.
- Each match locks at the deadline, or earlier if the show started early or a result for that match has been recorded.
- Locks are enforced on the server when you save, not just by the countdown in your browser.
Scoring (1 point per correct pick, 2 in championship matches)
- Pick the winner of each match. A correct pick scores 1 point; a correct pick in a championship match scores 2.
- Only results verified by our editors on the live desk count. Nothing is scored from rumours, reports or social media.
- Draws and no-contests: nobody scores, and the match doesn't count as a pick made.
- Cancelled matches (or a cancelled show): picks are void. Nobody scores.
- Changed opponents: if the side you picked is no longer in the match, your pick is void. If your side is still in it, your pick stands. You can change picks for that match until it locks.
- Postponed shows: your picks are kept, and editing reopens if the show gets a new date (same calendar entry). Picks lock again at the new start.
- Matches announced with an opponent still to be named can't be picked until the opponent is announced.
- Corrections: if a result is corrected, every pick on that match is re-scored and standings update. Each change is recorded in the scoring audit trail.
Standings and ties
- Standings are ranked by points.
- Tied on points: more correct picks ranks higher.
- Still tied: players share the position (the next position is skipped).
- Prize competitions publish their own tie-break rules with the prize terms.
Spoiler protection
- Points and movement in the standings can give results away. If spoiler protection is on, standings leave out every show inside your window until you reveal it.
- Pick sheets for those shows keep showing your picks, but not results or points.
Prizes
No prizes are on offer right now. A prize competition only opens once a real prize, its provider and reviewed contest terms are in place.
